Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Scavvy handles information when creators build QR scavenger hunts and players use join codes, QR codes, hints, and final reveals.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide to Scavvy, including account details, email address, hunt titles, clues, images, welcome messages, final reveal messages, and support requests.
When someone plays a hunt, we may collect the join code used, run progress, validation attempts, hint usage, device data, browser data, and approximate usage timestamps so the hunt works correctly.
If you buy an upgrade, payment details are handled by Stripe. Scavvy receives payment status and purchase records, but we do not store your full card number.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to create and host hunts, save player progress, process purchases, send account and support messages, improve Scavvy, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and comply with legal obligations.
We may use aggregated or deidentified usage data to understand which features are helpful and which parts of the product need improvement.
3. Cookies, Analytics, And Error Monitoring
Scavvy uses essential cookies and similar storage to keep users signed in, remember sessions, and make the app function.
We may use analytics and error monitoring tools to measure traffic, understand product usage, and find issues. Browser settings may let you limit cookies or other local storage.
4. Sharing Information
We share information with service providers that help us run Scavvy, such as hosting, database, storage, email, payment, analytics, and security providers.
We may share information if required by law, to protect users or Scavvy, during a business transfer, or with your direction. We do not sell personal information.
5. Hunt Links And Player Visibility
A hunt can be accessed by people who have its join code, QR code, or public link. Creators should treat those items like invitations and share them only with the intended audience.
Hunts and uploaded images may remain available until they expire, are deleted, or are retained for backup, security, or legal reasons. Sticky Hunt purchases may keep a hunt available longer.
6. Children And Family Hunts
Scavvy can be used for family activities, but creators are responsible for getting any needed permission before entering information about children or sharing a hunt with children.
Please do not submit sensitive personal details about children. If you believe a child gave us personal information without proper permission, contact us so we can review it.
7. Your Choices
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information by contacting us. We may need to keep some records for security, billing, backup, dispute, or legal reasons.
If you receive optional messages from us, you can ask us to stop. We may still send necessary account, purchase, security, or service messages.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No online service can promise perfect security, so use care when adding private clues, images, or locations to a hunt.
9. Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Scavvy changes. The updated date will show when the policy was last revised.
10. Contact
